USA win the World Championships

In a thrilling final match between the USA and Australia at the U19 Women’s Lacrosse World Champions, the US team fetched their fourth consecutive title. Canada finished third after beating the English team.

 

The final match of the U19 Women’s Lacrosse World Championships could not have been exciting. Despite the team’s furious pursuit race to catch up with the Australian lead, the US girls could not break off. During half-time the score was 7:7 and everyone was expectant to see if the team from Down Under could keep up the speed. “We knew the Australians still had an answer prepared for us,” said the US-Headcoach Krystin Porcella after her team’s 14:11 victory. “Both teams had the chance to score the deciding goal, but we had a bit more luck on our side.” MVP of the match was Tatum Coffey, who scored one goal and one assist in the final match.

 

In an one-sided game with a score of 14:5 between Canada and England, the Canadian team secured the third place in the tournament. The English team caught up in the second half but could not turn around the match. In two further matches Japan won against the Haudenosaunee with a score of 23:12 and thus ended the tournament on the seventh place, the Welsh team scored 12:7 against Scotland and became fifth.

The ten day tournament passed in a flash, but the teams as well as the many volunteers and officials will remember the experiences, friendships and lots of fun. The President of the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Stan Cockerton regarded the tournament as an opportunity for Germany. “Germany needs to cash in on the tournament and develop the sport further. The opportunity has never been better with the satisfying interest of the spectators. I would like to thank Anna Blank and Anjulie von Oettinger, all volunteers, players and officials who made this tournament turn out so successful.”

Rest Day – a resumé

Sightseeing and Relaxing – Two things are done on the rest-day of the Women´s U-19 World Championship in Hanover on the sixth day of the tournament. Only four teams are training for the next games. The Haudenosaunee are in Berlin and the Australian-Team is in Hamburg.

After four game days the US-Team is still favorite for the championship. Only Australia is on the way to be a possible opponent for the title as a World Champion. After beating the Haudenosaunee, Japan, Canada and England, there will be a big match on Tuesday between both teams as a test for a possible final-Game on the next Saturday.

 

While the Haudenosaunee are not a big combatant, the Japanese Team surprises with technique and speed. England and Canada are on their way to be third or fourth. in the first game between both teams Canada wins with 13:10 against England during a huge rain at the stadium. Everything will be possible on Saturday.

 

In the group B Scotland and Wales are on their way to the quarterfinals. Wales won the coverage on the first game day with 15:10. The Czech Republic, Germany and New Zealand played on the same level during the first round. While New Zealand is getting better every game, the Czech Republic shows first weaknesses. The Netherlands first appearance on a U19-Women´s World championship is affected by losses. In the game versus the Czech Team, they showed first rising tendencies. That will be an interesting consolation bracket hitch will start on Wednesday.

German team loses opening game

The German team wasn’t able to achieve more than a 8:12 in the opening game of the U19 Women’s Lacrosse World Championships against the Czech Republic. 1,200 spectators watched the match at the Erika-Fisch-Stadium.

Despite the first defeat in the first match of the Women’s Lacrosse World Championships the German team presented itself in good shape. Only three minutes into the match Charlotte Biffar was able to score the first goal and gain the lead for the host nation. The young players showed commitment in duels and remained an equal opponent through the match. The Czech team dominated in terms of goal achievement, however, and therefore the final score of 8:12 was well deserved.

First look at the Worlds T-Shirts/ Erster Blick auf die WM T-shirts

The first pictures of the World Cup T-shirts are here! You can look at as a preview of the designs we will sell at the World Cup. The official World Cup T-shirt will be available in two colours: deep blue  and pink.   All players of the U17 tournament receive the U17 festival T-shirt free of charge. In addition, there are two designs which connect the event of the World Cup with the of Hanover and are therefore a particularly beautiful souvenir. The prices are: Tshirt: 15 euros, 2 for 25 euros. Longsleeve: This is, the Longsleeve 20 euros, 2 for 35 euros what is shown here  in gray and the skyline of Hanover has on this. The T-shirt stand will be opened to field 1 as of August 3rd.

We sell the Tickets for the world championship only at the championship area (sports park Hannover. The prices are as follows: Day ticket adults: 5 euros Day ticket child: 3 euros Long-term map of adults: 40 euros Long-term map child: 20 eurosAs a child children and youngsters are valid person from 6 to 16 years. Children till 6 years pay no entry. The tickets are acquireable at the access to field 1 and can be only paid cash. Please, make sure that you have enough cash with you. Unfortunately, we can offer no credit card payment. It is not possible to order tickets in advance. Nevertheless, we assure that of every one map agrees. The day tickets will provide with a date, so that it is possible to you for the area to leave and to come again later on the same day. Long-term tickets as well as day tickets have a field to fill in the name of the owner. Please, fill in your name. In this manner also lost maps in the Infopoint can be delivered and be fetched again.We are glad about numerous visitors!

There are the postcards in two different designs: Once in the style of a traditional postcard with four Hannover to motives and once the more modern variation with a simple-elegant white stroke on purple background and a small discreet picture row. Both postcards are suitable to the dispatch and can be acquired during the world championship in the Merchandising state. Hannover motives point: The new city hall, the shopping street in the city centre, an aerial photo of the world championship of area and a night look about the city of Hannover. The stickers in round form are held simple and show the official world championship to logo. Prices: 1€ per postcard, 1€ per sticker. “Ice Age Ice” will secure the supply of ice for the athletes of the U19-Womens World Championships in August. Ice needed for injuries or ice baths after the game will be supported by the Ice Age Ice AG which works together with many kinds of sports for years now. Ice Age Ice guaranties best possible care by the experience of working with athlets. Working together with this Lacrosse event Ice Age Ice shows her engagement to a large field of sport-activities.

Ladies World-Championships 2013 in Canada

The Federation of International Lacrosse!(FIL) has awarded the 2013 World Cup to the Canadian Lacrosse Association (CLA). It was annonced on the 23rd of March. After hosting the last U19 woman World Championships in 2007, the organisation of the tournament raises the bar really high for all the following events. The Womans World Championships will take place in Ontario on July 11-20.

The organisation-comitee of the U19 world championships sents the best wishes to the CLA for this event.

Volkswagen is the new Mobility-Partner for the Ladies-U19 Championships

The transport of the active Members of the FIL-Ladies-U19 World Championship this august in Hannover is safe. Volkswagen will provide busses, which will be used as shuttles for Player, staff and referees between the hotel and the playground near the AWD-Arena. “We are proud to get a reputable German concern as a partner for the championships”, said Anna Blank from the organization-committee. “It is another important step for the needed infrastructure of the tournament.”

Also the progress of the design for flyer, tickets and poster is on the final step. For the brochure it is possible, to buy announcements or wishes by contacting us on our contact-page.

Sports-Foundation advances the Championships

The „Lower Saxony Lotto-Sports-Foundation” advances the Ladies U19 World Championships in Hanover

For the Ladies U19 World Championships this August in Hanover the Committee took a huge sticking point for the financing of the event. The „Lower Saxony Lotto-Sports-Foundation” agrees to support the Championships with up to 20.000 Euro which is a big part of the economic basis for this sporting event.

For already 17 years the Foundation supports several different sport events like soccer or wheelchair dance. Championships and Competitions as well as school sport or handicapped sport is supported by the Lower Saxony Lotto-Sports-Foundation. The lacrosse-teams from Hanover were happy to get support by the foundation for several times in the past years.

We would like to thank for their confidence and look forward to the new cooperation.
